I haven't had much luck finding signs of spring but while straining my eyes looking for something green or growing I spotted this old maple leaf . Having survived the winter, it was soaking up the sun on a rock.

I started taking shots of this orange. I tried a few different angles and changing the light. Then I ate it . I think I could do better... but I'd have to go back to the supermarket and start all over .

Streetscape


A Streetscape in Lunenburg Nova Scotia. A world Heritage Site contains hundreds of Victorian ere houses. A community with a lot of shipbuilders who used their woodworking skills to embellish their homes.

Catch of the Day


There is a lot of argument about whether Maritime (Canadian) lobsters are better than Maine (American) lobsters. All I can tell you is that we use fresh coffee for bait and our lobsters arrive at the Boston Market fresh AND alert.

This week is Maple Syrup weather. The nights are cold and the temperature rises above freezing each afternoon. The sap should bemoving in the trees. I took this image of the sunlight slowly melting the frost on a moss covered rock.

Freezing Rain

Tie the Knot #328


This is called a Turkshead knot. It takes a lot of rope and a bit of time to put it together the first time. This was my second attempt. I put some of Debbie's beachstones in the centre.
