Out of Date #217

I haven't had much luck finding signs of spring but while straining my eyes looking for something green or growing I spotted this old maple leaf . Having survived the winter, it was soaking up the sun on a rock.

The sun was shining through this group of evergreens along the bank of the LaHave River.

Orange #213

I started taking shots of this orange. I tried a few different angles and changing the light. Then I ate it . I think I could do better... but I'd have to go back to the supermarket and start all over .

These chains caught my eye in Lunenburg. They were at the shipyard. You can't tell from the picture how big they are.

A Streetscape in Lunenburg Nova Scotia. A world Heritage Site contains hundreds of Victorian ere houses. A community with a lot of shipbuilders who used their woodworking skills to embellish their homes.

Catch of the Day

There is a lot of argument about whether Maritime (Canadian) lobsters are better than Maine (American) lobsters. All I can tell you is that we use fresh coffee for bait and our lobsters arrive at the Boston Market fresh AND alert.

Fishing Gear

The colours of this fishing gear caught my eye today. It was piled on the Moose Harbour wharf in Queens County Nova scotia.

Freezing Rain

The storm that is hitting the Northeast has managed to miss us so far. We have received a little freezing rain which makes for treacherous walking but has left trees and power lines intact.

Tie the Knot #328

This is called a Turkshead knot. It takes a lot of rope and a bit of time to put it together the first time. This was my second attempt. I put some of Debbie's beachstones in the centre.
