Beach Erosion

Two years ago the provincial government spent
thousands of dollars to build a large fence to protect the beach. Last winter the storms removed all traces of the fence. This year the storms continue to eat away at the dunes.

These whelks climb into the fishermen's lobster traps. Our neighbour boils the snails , removes the innards and fries them up in butter.

Vanishing Sand


This might look like a regular shoreline picture but this is normally a sandy beach. This is a picture of Little Risser's after a couple December storms washed the sand away. Hopefully, the sand will wash back in by springtime.
