Catch of the Day

There is a lot of argument about whether Maritime (Canadian) lobsters are better than Maine (American) lobsters. All I can tell you is that we use fresh coffee for bait and our lobsters arrive at the Boston Market fresh AND alert.

  1. Great picture. I KNOW Maine lobster are better!! I grew up eating them and have several friends who still lobster in Maine (took over their families businesses/boats). Think I prefer to drink my own caffeine

  2. Great photo and I LOVE the story. Although, I'm not sure I'd want really alert lobster. Aren't they a bit more crabby...

  3. Irresponsibility in fishing has always been a worry for me John, now I see they have reverted to artificial stimulants again, I thought that had been stopped when they banned aniseed as a burley, I mean gosh man what is wrong with good old expanding bait!

  4. I know you're right. It's a bad thing... using caffeine to lure lobsters... but when you see those little guys rolling up the rim...

  5. Given the price of lobster I would have suspected they were using Starbucks coffee for bait though! A fun shot and story.
