This fisherman on the LaHave River had just caught a dozen smelts. He must have had some time since his last catch and arranged his fish according to size. This part of the river is really a sunken river valley and is salt water. The tide was out and I slipped a couple times on the shore ice.

Nice catch, John! :-)
ReplyDeleteWere they laid out to flash freeze?
ReplyDeleteI just saw an ice fisher today - it is 60 degress out, I would be afraid the ice would melt, hmmm. Looks cold there though! Great picture!
ReplyDeleteI always wondered what smelts looked like! Ice fishing seems ... so .. cold!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. fresh frozen fish or is it frozen fresh fish.! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful shot and the fisherman's predilection for ordering his catch is curious...
