Rose Breasted Grosbeak

This fellow showed up at the feeder a week ago. Each morning he arrives for an early breakfast . He looks marvelous but kind of lonely. There are no signs of other males or females and as far as I know he isn't supposed to be in the province at all.

This Red Winged Blackbird and his Blackbird cousins have set up housekeeping in the local swamp.

Friendly Crossbills

I found a pair of crossbills feeding on this apple tree. I'd like to think they consider these dried up apples to be a delicacy.
