Beach Erosion

Two years ago the provincial government spent

thousands of dollars to build a large fence to protect the beach. Last winter the storms removed all traces of the fence. This year the storms continue to eat away at the dunes.

Busted Trap

I found this broken lobster trap washed up on Risser's beach this morning.

Squirrel

We're the best of friends. I'm staying away from her nest and she's staying away from the basement. We meet at the bird feeder.

Cold Seat

There is an old hay rake on the edge of a field near our house.

Whelk

These whelks climb into the fishermen's lobster traps. Our neighbour boils the snails , removes the innards and fries them up in butter.

Let me out.

The snow is falling and the chickadees are at the feeder. I gotta go out... I'll behave.... I promise.
