Kiwi poses on Risser's Beach

Spring Tide

Sunday morning on the Risser's Beach boardwalk. The moon was full and at perigee . The tide was just a little higher than usual and flooded the saltmarsh.

Beach Erosion

Two years ago the provincial government spent

thousands of dollars to build a large fence to protect the beach. Last winter the storms removed all traces of the fence. This year the storms continue to eat away at the dunes.

Baby Seal

There was a stranger near the boardwalk at Rissers Beach. I guess this is my second sign of spring.

Sunny Kelp

It was a cloudy day on the beach. The sun started to peek through the clouds and I tried to get a picture of it reflected off the wet sand. I wantewd to frame it with the kelp.

Winter #363

A long long time ago this was a sign that winter was nearing its end. The harbour ice was no longer good for skating. We would find a pole and push ice cakes around.
