Tall Ship

I took this picture of the brig Fryderyk Chopin at a wharf in Lunenburg harbour. The ship was built in Gdansk Poland in 1992.

Coltsfoot

Often mistaken for a dandelion the coltsfoot blooms before its leaves appear.

Cape Split

Cape Split is a long narrow peninsula that juts out into the Bay of Fundy. It's an 8 kilometre trek through evergreen and hardwood forests climbing over roots and fallen trees with sadistic hikers telling you that you've only got 15 more minutes to go to the end of the trail. The view at the end of the walk is worth it

Quiet Morning

The fishing boats were out tending their lobster traps this morning and the wharf was deserted.

Cartesian Diver

We made some Cartesian Divers today using 2 litre pop bottles and medicine droppers.

Mayflower

The mayflower is the provincial flower of Nova Scotia and one of the few native plants brave or foolhardy enough to bloom this April.

Gathering Moss

Another day with the macro lens. I found this old tree stump covered with moss.

Knot for Sale

I took the macro lens for a walk this morning.

Geraniums

One of our Rites of Spring is a visit to the local greenhouses. This display of geraniums helped me forget that it was just 5 degrees celsius outside.
